FNE at KVIFF 2019: Attention all film critics coming to Karlovy Vary IFF

This year for the sixth  time FNE together with  FIPRESCI are organising the  ratings of all feature films in the main competition, the East of the West competition and the Czech section of the official Karlovy Vary International Film Festival programme by international critics attending the Festival.

If you are attending KVIFF as an officially registered member of the press, just send an email to critics@filmneweurope.com. But hurry up because the total number of critics will be limited to the first 20 to sign up!

During the Festival you will be able to rate any film in the programme that you see with 1 to 5 stars. (1 for the worst and 5 for the best ). This is not a jury-you rate only the films that you see. We will publish the results with your stars each day during the festival on FNE.

This year the Czech National Film Archives www.nfa.cz have teamed up with FNE to offer the first five participating critics a gift of a set of beautifully restored rare Czech classic films. The films include Black Peter (1964) by Miloš Forman (FIPRESCI Award); The White Disease / Krakatit (1948) by Otakar Vávra; comedies The Good Soldier Svejk (1956) and Beg to Report (1957) by Karel Stekly; Ikarie XB 1 (1963) by Jindrich Polak and From Saturday to Sunday (1931) by Gustav Machatý. The DVDs also include exclusive bonus materials. These DVDs and many other restored classics of Czech film are also available at the NFA online e-shop www.nfa.cz.
