Christoph Schmitz was born in 1961 in Linz, Rhein. He studied German Literature, Philosophy and Musicology at the University of Bonn. He is editor at the German National Radio (“Deutschlandfunk”), being responsible for music, cinema and literature as moderator of the daily program “Kultur heute”. He is also a novelist (“Das Wiesenhaus”).
