Mareille Klein

Film Director, Germany

Born in Cologne in 1979, Mareille Klein was a journalist in Berlin from 2001 to 2004, prior to studying film directing at the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF). In 2010, her documentary Auf Teufel komm raus celebrated its international premiere in Toronto. In 2012, her first fictional short film Gruppenfoto received the Max Ophüls Preis for best short film. Her first feature film, Dinky Sinky, premiered at FILMFEST MÜNCHEN in 2016, where it received the German Cinema New Talent Award for best screenplay and the FIPRESCI Prize of the International Film Critics’ Federation. Monday um zehn is her second feature film.
