Brussels Festival Host the Critics’ Prize

The 2022 edition of Brussels International Film Festival (June 23 – July 2) will add the FIPRESCI Prize to the list of awards. BRIFF becomes the only Belgian festival where this prize will currently be awarded.

The aim of the International Film Critics’ Awards (FIPRESCI Prize), awarded by the International Federation of Film Critics founded in Brussels in 1930 and now active in more than 80 countries, is to promote cinematographic art and encourage new and young cinema.

It is awarded during international film festivals or during film festivals of special significance. The BRIFF is honored to join some major festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Toronto.

Only the first films presented publicly within the three BRIFF competitions (International Competition, National Competition and Directors’ Week) will be eligible for the FIPRESCI prize, regardless of the section in which they are screened.
