22nd Warsaw International Film Festival

Hungary, October 6 - October 15 2006

The jury

Michael Ranze (Germany), Jan Olszewski (), Ronald Bergan (UK)

Awarded films

This autumn, the festival celebrated its 22nd edition. It was founded way back in other times — and has since undergone remarkable changes. Jan Olszewski outlines the festival history and talks about its importance today.

Our jury prized the Hungarian revelation of the year: Fresh Air (Friss Levegö) by Agnes Kocsis: the story of an impossible communication between Viola and Angela, who only meet to watch their favorite television series.
