Motivation: “Amidst piles of cloths and cotton, the film takes us into the social fabric of migrant textile workers from all over China. Through a four-hour-long observation of their daily lives, intimate moments, and collective struggle for fair wages, the film makes visible the hopes and fears of a contemporary global working class. Wang’s ever-moving handheld camera penetrates the surface to create a raw and intense physical experience”.
