Manuel Halpern

Manuel Halpern is a writer, journalist and film critic, born in Lisbon in 1974, the main responsible for film and music in JL, regular contributor of Visão magazine, and diretor of the literary magazine A Morte do Artista. He was the author of the radio programs Juke Box and Contos para Pulares, and the TV Program Best of Cinema.
Post-graduation in Film and Pop Music critics from Universitat Ramon Llull (Barcelona), fellowship José Rodrigues Miguéis (Washington) and Gabriel García Márquez (Cartagena de Indias) .
A jury member at several national and international film and music festivals and awards, and also of the Portuguese Nacional Film Board (ICA).
Author of the books O Futuro da Saudade, Fora de Mim, Homem do Leme and Escama, Rima, Carapaça, and the theatrical plays O Segredo do Teu Corpo, Placo and Palavras Difíceis. As a hobby he also works as a VJ.
