In 1922, Albert Samama shot a 35mm short film called “Zohra”, to be the first film in the history of Tunisia. This year Cinematic Days of Carthage (JCC) was supposed to celebrate the centenary of the Tunisian cinema, but the festival had to be cancelled as a result of the conflicts in the Middle East. Our Franco-Tunisian film critic Henda Houala wrote this text to be published in parallel with the festival. JCC might not happen, but we still have to celebrate 100 years of cinema in Tunisia.
