Motivation for winning film:

With remarkable precision in its storytelling and direction, and with performances of unwavering authenticity, the film powerfully explores the bonds of a broken family through the eyes of a young girl. It also delves—without judgment and with compelling ambiguity—into the notion of belonging, and how it can serve as a path to healing, whether through faith or otherwise.
For these reasons, we, the FIPRESCI Jury, have decided to award the prize to LOS DOMINGOS (Sundays) by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa.

At the opening ceremony, Ainda estou aquí / I’m Still Here, directed by Walter Sales, was awarded the FIPRESCI Grand Prix. The vote had the participation of 739 critics from 75 countries, who have chosen this Brazilian-French production from among all those released since July 1, 2024. Read the full news on the link.
