Locarno 75. Our jury, headed by Netherlands critic Dana Linssen, honored the Malaysian/Indonesian coproduction Stone Turtle by Ming Jin Woo (photo courtesy Greenlight Pictures). Our winner, says the jury, “offers a multiplicity of perspectives on urgent themes such as violence against women, the question who has a right to citizenship and the way we deal with our natural environment.” More


Iran: Release Imprisoned Filmmakers
FIPRESCI condemns the arrests of Iranian filmmakers Mohammad Rasoulof, Mostafa Al-ahmad and Jafar Panahi. “We call for their immediate release, along with other non-violent political detainees. We stand in solidarity with them and all the filmmakers, journalists and activists under such political repression throughout the world.” More
