Debuts in Jerusalem: “Album” from Turkey
Jerusalem (Israel). At the 33rd Jerusalem Film Festival (July 7-17, 2016), the Critics Jury presented two prizes, to first films in both the international and the national competitions.
Prize, the Best International Film Debut: “Album” (Albüm) by Mehmet Can Mertoglu (Turkey, France, Romania, 2016, 105 min).
Prize, the Best Israeli Film Debut: “One Week and a Day” (Shavua ve Yom) by Asaph Polonsky (Israel, 2016, 98 min).
Jury members were: Pierre-Simon Gutman, France (“L’Avant Scène Cinéma”, “Les Fiches du Cinéma”), Nino Kovacic, Croatia (“Filmoskop”, “Filmonaut”, “Moj-film.hr”), Yishai Kiczales, Israel (“Israel Hayom”).
