Kerala: Suspension of Activities
The “International Film Festival of Kerala”, organized by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, informs:
Dear Klaus,
As you know Kerala has been hit by a terrible natural disaster last month. In the current circumstances of heavy loss of life & livelihood we have decided to suspend all work on the 23rd International Film Festival of Kerala. The Kerala State Chalachitra Academy believes that all efforts and resources need to be diverted to persons suffering & the rebuilding of the State.
You will agree at this time of crisis it is inappropriate to think of a Festival. We are certainly hoping that by the end of September we will have greater clarity on the way forward.
We seek your understanding and strength.
The long association you have had with the festival is precious and will continue. We will revert on the program, reservations for Films, invitations and selections by the end of September.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused.
Thanking you
23rd IFFK team
