FIPRESCI’s Best Foreign Language Film
The Palm Springs festival offered in its 2018 edition a wide selection of 45 films from the Academy Award’s foreign language submissions. It was this Awards Buzz section that was watched by the FIPRESCI jury, who award three prizes. The Best Foreign Language Film of the year award went to Alain Gomis’s “Félicité”, from Senegal (photo: Andolfi). The Best Actress in a Foreign Language Film award was given to Daniela Vega for Sebastián Lelio’s “A Fantastic Woman”, from Chile, and the Best Actor in a Foreign Language Film award was won by Nakhane Touré for South African film “The Wound”, directed by John Trengove.
