The Critics’ Best Foreign Language Film
At the Palm Springs International Film Festival (USA, January 3–14, 2019), we presented the “International Critics’ Prize (FIPRESCI Prize) for the Best Foreign Language Film of the Year (2018)” (categories: best film, best actor, best actress). Best film: “Shoplifters” (Manbiki kazoku) by Hirokazu Kore-eda (Japan, 2018, 121 minutes). Best actress: Joanna Kulig, in “Cold War” (Zimna wojna) by Pawel Pawlikowski. Best actor: Marcello Fonte in “Dogman” by Matteo Garrone. Jury members were Elaine Guerini, Brazil, Thomas Abeltshauser, Germany, Marietta Steinhart, Austria- Festival: www.psfilmfest.org
