Taipei: Young Chinese Language Films

At the Taipei Golden Horse Festival (Taiwan, November 5-26, 2015), the Critics Prize is dedicated to films shot in Chinese language and made by young directors. Prize: “Kaili Blues” (Lu bian ye can, China 2015, 110 min) by Bi Gan (director, screenplay). Motivation: “For the creative impressive visuality and poetic expression with philosophic overtones akin to the life and times of the disoriented contemporary psyche.” Print Source: Heaven Pictures (Bejing) Co., Ltd.

Jury members were Viera Langerová, Slovakia, president (“Filmpress.sk”, “Hospodarske Noviny”), Madhu Eravankara, India (“The Hindu”, “Chandrika”), and, as guests, Regina HO, Taiwan (“Next Media”) and YU Xiao-Yi, China (Southern Metropolis Daily).
