Boriana Mateeva

Film critic, born in Sofia, Bulgaria. Head of programming at the Bulgarian National Film Archive. Lecturer of Bulgarian and World Animation in the New Bulgarian University and of Latin-American Cinema in the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts in Sofia where she gained a doctorate. Main publications: “Non Dogmatic Dogmatisms”, “The New Argentinean and the New Bulgarian Cinema – Similarities and Distinctions”, “Projections of the Brazilian Cinema Novo 40 Years Later – from O Fuzis of Ruy Guerra to Carandiru of Hector Babenco”. Bulgarian Union of Filmmakers Prize for Film Criticism, 1997.
