Botagoz Koilybayeva

Botagoz Koilybayeva is a Kazakh film critic and PhD candidate based in Prague. Her current doctoral research investigates the intersection of film, ecology, and the more-than-human. A Berlinale Talent Press and Locarno Critics Academy alumna, her work has appeared in Documentary Magazine, Mubi Notebook, Little White Lies, Senses of Cinema, and Klassiki, amongst others. She is a member of the Kazakhstan Association of Film Critics and FIPRESCI, and contributes to independent Kazakh media.
