Daryel Hernández Vázquez

Film Critic, Cuba

Journalist, photographer, and film critic. He holds a degree in Information Sciences from the Faculty of Communication at the University of Havana and a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Culture from the University of the Arts. He has written film criticism for various national and international media outlets: “Cartelera Cine y Vídeo,” “La Jiribilla,” “Cine Latinoamericano,” “Árbol Invertido,” and “Diario del Festival,” among others. He is a screenwriter for the television program “Banda Sonora” on Canal Habana. He was a member of the Organizing Committee for the 44th and 45th editions of the Havana International Festival of New Latin American Cinema and a member of the collateral jury of the Cuban Association of Film Press (ACPC) at the 45th edition of the Festival. He is the editor, photographer, and producer of the short films “La Fibra,” “Diálogo de uno en dos,” and “Círculos concéntricos,” which have won awards in international competitions. He also directed the short film “La Pesadilla” and the documentary “La Razón de las Palabras.”
