Armenian orientalist (PhD in Medieval Arabic Literature, YSU, 2010), film journalist (member to the Guild of Film Critics and Film Journalists of Armenia since 2005), moviemaker, independent researcher (fields: Arabic studies, Urartian studies, monuments, cinema) and humanitarian worker.
Translated hundreds of films and TV series for the Public TV of Armenia, ATV, Golden Apricot, SunChild IFFs, British Council Cinema Week in Armenia (2006 – 2013)
Was deputy editor-in-chief of Armenian “CinemArt” magazine, currently publishing film reviews on “Kinoashkharh” (“World of Cinema”) online outlet, and focused on films touching war topics, following 2020 war on Artsakh and Armenia, and ethnic cleansing.
Had recent film-research (2024) on the topic of the IA visualization of a Parajanov unshot movie of 1972 “Ara the Handsome” (based on archival script), presented at the RA National Academy of Sciences and various cities in Armenia for “Parajanov 100” project by the Ministry of Culture of RA & LOFT Centers.
Served as a Delegate with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine, Iraq, Libya, Gaza, and Syria (2016-2023)
