Dinara Maglakelidze

Dinara Maglakelidze, is a Georgian film theorist. She received her PhD in 2002 at the Humboldt University in Berlin, writing about West-German and Georgian films d’auteur. In Germany, she is known from her collaboration with the Berlin Arsenal Cinema and the Friends of the German Cinémathèque. In Georgia, she held various positions as a research assistant and did program work for the Goethe Institute in Tbilisi, also organizing its film club until 2006. Today she teaches film and media science at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tbilisi and coordinates the Georgian FIPRESCI section.
