G P Ramachandran is a renowned film critic from India who has bagged President’s GoldMedal, the National Award for best film critic in 2006. He has won four Kerala State awardsalong with numerous other awards. He has a reputation of being a jury member in variousinternational and national film festivals such as El Gouna Film Festival, Slemani International filmfestival(Kurdistan/Iraq), National Film Award of India (2007), Bengaluru International filmfestival, International film festival of Kerala, International documentary and short film festivalof Kerala, Ajanta Ellora Film Festival, International film festival of Thrissur, SIGNS – festival of documentaries shorts and digital videos, John Abraham awards for best Malayalam film, Kuwait Art Lovers’ Association short film festival etc. He has authored ten books and several articles in Malayalam. Presently, G P Ramachandran serves as a member of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi, the official literary body of the Government of Kerala, and acts as the Treasurer of FIPRESCI’s India chapter.
