Isabel Wittmann

Isabel Wittmann is a film critic and researcher, Ph.D in Social Anthropology at the University of São Paulo (Universidade de São Paulo- USP), with doctoral exchange at University of Siena (Università degli Studi di Siena- Unisi). Her research focuses on gender and sexuality in film, with contributions to this field through articles and chapters in academic and non-academic publications and teaching courses and giving lectures on film criticism and gender studies. Acting as a film critic for over ten years, she is also co-founder and the editor-in-chief of Feito por Elas, a platform dedicated to promoting and discussing the work of women in cinema through reviews, essays, and podcasts. In addition she is a member of the Visual Anthropology Group (GRAVI) at the Laboratory of Image and Sound in Anthropology (LISA-USP), an international Golden Globes voter and a member of the Brazilian Film Critics Association (Abraccine) and the International Federation of Film Critics (Fipresci).
