Margot Schaap

Film Director, The Netherlands

Margot Schaap was born in the Netherlands in 1986 and finished her studies on Film Directing at the Nederlandse Filmacademie in 2008. Her graduation work “Gaandeweg” (2008) won the Tuschinski Award and took part in various film festivals. After she had both written and directed some short films, Schaap realised her first documentary “School vol vissen” (2014). So it was merely a matter of time until she decided to develop her feature film debut “Een dag in ’t jaar” (2014) – with a tiny budget and much support of her friends.
