Mariam Schaghaghi

Born in Düsseldorf/Germany, raised in Teheran/Iran, and now based in Hamburg, Mariam Schaghaghi is a multicultural film journalist publishing reports, interviews, and portraits on cinema and specializing in interviews with international cinema creatives and acclaimed actors. She publishes recurrently in Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung and Quarterly, NZZ am Sonntag, Madame, Annabelle magazine, and many more. For more than 20 years, she is a regular in Cannes, Venice, and Berlin and has been visiting the film festivals in Marrakech, San Sebastián, Rome, London, and Zurich.
Mariam holds a Master’s degree in Romance Languages and Oriental Studies from the University of Freiburg as well as a Bachelor/Licence degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Paris Sorbonne.
