Omnia Adel

An Egyptian film critic, board member of the Egyptian Film Critics Association (EFCA), and a member of the Cinematic Professions Syndicate. She currently holds the position of Managing Editor at El Film Magazine.
Omnia Adel is actively involved in Egyptian film festivals. She is a Programmer at the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival and participates in the film viewing and selection committees for festivals such as the Cairo International Film Festival, the Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentary and Short Films, and the Alexandria Mediterranean Film Festival. She also serves as the editor for the catalogs of these festivals.
Additionally, Omnia contributes critical articles to several other magazines and websites, including FilmBuff, Rassif 22, Chroum, El-Manassa, Sollywood, and Schehrezade.
Omnia Adel has published her first book on Egyptian documentary films from 1940 to 1980, called “The Hidden Path of Filmmakers\مسيرة صناع السينما الخفية” and is currently working on her second book, a study of the commercial Egyptian film period titled ‘El-Moqawalat’. She has also contributed to several cinematic books, such as “Women in Cinema,” published by the Aswan Film Festival in 2024 and “Hamina the Majestic” by Annaba Film Festival.
Beyond her critical work, Omnia is also active in the film industry, developing her own short film. This project has been part of several script development workshops, working with notable figures like Ahmed Abdalla El-Sayed, Ayman El Amir and Karim El Daliel.
