Pablo Staricco Cadenazzi
Film Critic, Uruguay
He has a degree in Communication Sciences from the Universidad Católica del Uruguay and has worked as a cultural journalist and film critic for radio stations and national press media (El País, El Observador, Radio Sarandí and Radio Oriental). He currently works as a film critic and journalist for the newspaper Búsqueda. He is a member of the Uruguayan Film Critics Association (ACCU) and has participated as a jury for FIPRESCI in international festivals. In 2019 he was selected in the critics training programs “Young Film Critic” of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and “GoCritic!”, co-organized by Cineuropa and the World Festival of Animated Film Zagreb. Since 2017 he has been running the cinephile podcast Santas Listas, part of Polenta – Entretenimiento Sonoro. In 2020 he created, through Polenta and in collaboration with la Sala Zitarrosa, the podcast Cineastas #DesdeCasa, a cycle of interviews with Uruguayan filmmakers during the pandemic. He has been awarded as a cartoonist for his work together with the illustrator Santiago Musetti, with whom he runs the Pantano Editorial publishin label.
