Roman Scheiber

Roman Scheiber started as an all-rounder in magazine publishing before serving for almost twenty years as editor-in-chief of ray film magazine, where he focused on new auteur series.

He has contributed to several books, and has written multimedia film education materials for high school teachers. Since 2008 he also works with the Viennale film festival.

His most recent publication is an article on the earliest Swiss film festivals in Basel, featured in the commemorative volume Aus Enthusiasmus fürs Kino! 90 Jahre Le Bon Film, published by Schwabe Verlag.

Roman was also a jury member of the Ophüls Prize in Saarbrücken 2024, serving alongside Till Brockmann and Ingrid Beerbaum, judging both the Feature Film Prize and the Documentary Film Prize.

Roman is also the founder of filmfilter.at.
