Rudolf Worschech

Film Critic, Germany

Rudolf Worschech studied German studies, Slavic studies and theatre, film and television studies. From 1985 to 1995, he worked as a curator at the German Film Museum in Frankfurt. In 1989 and 1991, he curated two major exhibitions on German film history and co-edited the exhibition catalogues: “Between Yesterday and Tomorrow” on West German post-war cinema from 1946 to 1962 and “Farewell to Yesterday” on West German cinema of the 1960s and 1970s. In 1994, he ran the cinema of the Film Museum for a year. He has been publishing texts on film since 1986. In 1987, he joined the editorial team of the magazine epd-Film, where he was editor-in-chief from 2002 to 2023. He has been a member of selection committees and juries at festivals, such as the goEast Festival of Central and Eastern European Film in Wiesbaden, from 2001. For twenty years, he was either on the executive or advisory board of the German Film Critics Association (VdFk).
