The Sofia International Film Festival has a strong regional identity where one has an opportunity to see many Balkan films. In addition, the festival is attractive for international guests as a useful showcase of new Bulgarian film production. The FIPRESCI award was given to Lady Zee in order to build a bridge between the national and international contexts of film art that co-exist naturally in the festival program. (a.l.)
