Jury’s motivation for the prize: “With the spontaneous and vivid performances of its three heroines, played by non-professional actresses, it deals bittersweetly with the pains and conflicts of growing up and growing as a woman. It also advocates a life outside social norms by mocking private property and depicting bonds of affection and solidarity between women at a time when nuclear families are crumbling. In the context of a microcosm that is a reflection of the whole world, the open honest dialogue of the characters based on trust makes the viewer experience the full range of emotions in almost two hours”.
