68th International Leipzig Festival for Documentary and Animated Film, Germany

Motivation:
A very personal and poetic documentary about the intense relation of the director to her mother,
who got a cancer diagnosis. It opens up the view on the dramatic story of the mother´s life and
restrictions she has experienced in a patriarchal society. «The Red Moon Eclipse» was for us a
strong cinematic experience, which made us look forward to Caroline Guimbal´s next films.
