Jury statement:

“How many times in our lives do we have the chance to shed our skin and emerge as new people? Through a series of poignant, surreal encounters, this meta-film shows how our sense of self is often in discrepancy with the way others perceive us and embraces the possibility of transformation. The director demonstrates wit and verve while taking our reluctant protagonist on a journey of self-discovery imbued with mystical overtones. The film is held up by a multi-layered performance and it is wrapped up in a cinematography that is especially radiant at night. Its cinematic world subtly balances between comedy and drama, the uncanny and the quotidian, while we follow our main character in his struggle to navigate a rapidly changing reality of both the film industry and intergenerational relationships. We whole-heartedly award Supporting Role, directed by Ana Urushadze.”
