The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) and the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) are proud to announce a new collaboration with South Korea’s first genre-focused film festival and Asia’s premier hub for fantastic cinema.

On May 7, during the Opening Ceremony of the 23rd Millennium Docs Against Gravity, a new international award was introduced – the FIPRESCI Documentary Grand Prix. The first recipient of the Documentary Grand Prix is Fiume o morte! by Igor Bezinović.

FIPRESCI is deeply saddened by the passing of Edna Fainaru, a distinguished figure in Israeli and international cinema. Over a career spanning more than six decades, Edna established herself as a respected journalist, writing for leading industry publications including Variety and Screen International, and serving as editor of the Israeli journal Cinematheque. She was also an artistic consultant to numerous international film festivals, including those in Geneva, Copenhagen, Taormina, and Istanbul. Together with her husband, Dan Fainaru, she served as artistic director of the Arava International Film Festival.
