Film criticism/review is a key element in the film industry’s ecosystem. And in Africa, in particular, it could not be more important. This year, the FIPRESCI supported the Talent Press among the Talents Durban and brought five emerging film critics from Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and Egypt in a ten weeks online mentoring program.
The Talents were guided by FIPRESCI mentors Domoina Ratsara, Madagascar, and Mohamed Tarek, Egypt.

On July 3, 2025, during the 42nd Filmfest Munchen, the FIPRESCI General Secretary of 38 years Klaus Eder received homage from the international film critics’ community. The honorary speech and statuette was delivered by a FIPRESCI member, German film critic Thilo Wydra. Read the details.
FIPRESCI Critics Project – Applications Now Open For The 20th Edition Of The Festival’s Film Criticism Workshop!
The Warsaw Film Festival is proud to launch the 20th iteration of the FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project, which will take place during the 41st edition of the festival, October 10-19, 2025. The FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project is a programme for young critics and journalists from Central and Eastern Europe who are starting their professional career.
