The International Federation of Film Critics proudly announces the launch of its new FIPRESCI Legacy Award, a special honor that turns the critical gaze toward cinema’s rich past to recognize those who have shaped the craft of filmmaking. During the 46th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival (November 12-21), FIPRESCI will present the FIPRESCI 100 Lifetime Achievement Award to Hungarian director Ildikó Enyedi. The award ceremony will take place on the evening of November 20 before the screening of her latest film, Silent Friend, at the Cairo Opera House’s Grand Theater. For the third consecutive year, FIPRESCI took part in the International Film Criticism Conference, held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. FIPRESCI members played a leading role throughout the program, offering a diversity of voices, backgrounds, and critical methodologies. Read more
