Alexander Grozev
Film Critic, Bulgaria
Alexander Grozev was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, and is a graduate in Film Studies from the High Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in Moscow. As film critic he contributes to various film magazines, review outlets and newspapers. He is a lecturer in Film Distribution at the National Academy for Theatre and Film in Sofia, and in Film History at the SouthWest University in Blagoevgrad. He is the author of many books related to the history of film, including “The Cinema in Bulgaria” in three volumes. He is founder and artistic director of the International Film Festival “Love is Foll” in Varna (1993), Executive Director of the Bulgarian National Film Centre (2004-2009), and a member of the Union of the Bulgarian Filmmakers and the Bulgarian section of FIPRESCI. He has been a jury member at numerous national and international film festivals.
