Viliam Jablonicky is film critic, journalist and historian of film and culture. He wrote “The Film and Television in the West” then “Aesthetic and social Function of Film Critics” at the Comenius University in Bratislava (1985). He has edited literary and cultural sections of Slovak newspapers and magazines including “Film a divadlo (Film and Theater)”, and self-published the books “Filmmaker Viktor Kubal” (1993) and “Pola Negri in Slovak Eyes” (Polish, 2012). As a co-author he has been involved in four dozen other titles focusing on the history of film and other cultural and historical books. For many years he coordinated for the program of IFF Etnofilm in Slovakia.
