Revision of Statutes
Dear colleagues,
We need new rules for FIPRESCI.
Our current statutes date from the 60s of last century (the times of the Cold War). The federation was still small, and small was the daily work which could still be done by one person, the general secretary.
In the meantime the world changed. Film criticism changed. To connect to today, FIPRESCI needs a new structure. The daily work of a big international organization cannot any more be on one shoulder and desk.
To adapt our organization to the situation and the requirements of today, is now in your hands, at our members, the national sections. Use the chance to shape FIPRESCI according to your ideas and needs.
Last summer and autumn we had already began this discussion. The result is attached: See the file statutes_project_2025_01.doc (in the download area “Revision of Statutes”). Changes to the current statute are marked in yellow color.
We expect your comments until January 24, 2025. Use the address info@fipresci.org. A later assembly will process all suggestions. The final version will then come into force at a further meeting (possibly via the Internet and an electronic voting).
Thanks for helping to make FIPRESCI better and modern.
