Victoria Smirnova (born 1972 in Saint-Petersburg) is a Russian film and contemporary art critic. Graduated from the Russian Philology and Culture Department (Saint Petersburg University) she works for numerous newspapers and web sites (“Underground”, “Vecherniy Petersburg”, “Panorama TV”, “Drougoje kino”) writes articles, interviews, analytic essays for the main Russian film magazine “Art of Cinema” while continuing her post graduate studies at the Russian Institute of Art History. Last publications are: “Dom – 2. Russian Reality Show” (Art of Cinema, 2007); “Districted — review on October film premiers” (Teatralny Petersburg 2007), “Amateurs — review on the latest Iosseliani film (Art of Cinema, 2007), “Made in Iran — essay on Iranian films (Hermitage, 2007).
