22th Guadalajara Film Festival

Mexico, March 11 - 18, 2005

The jury

Grégory Valens (France), Ana Cavaco (), Luciano Castillo (), Wolfgang Hamdorf (Germany), Orlando Mora (Colombia),

Awarded films

Originally, the Guadalajara Film Festival was founded as a showcase of Mexican cinema. Under the direction of Raul Padilla and Kenya Marquez, it has been extended to an event dedicated to Ibero-American cinemas, and affiliated a market for films from that region. For the first year and to celebrate its 20th anniversary, it was in 2005 renamed as an international film festival. Our jurors saw films from Latin America, Spain and Portugal, and selected an Argentinean film as winner: Pablo Trapero’s Rolling Family (Familia rodante). After receiving our prize for Mundo Grua in Rotterdam in 2000, and for El Bonaerense in Chicago in 2002, Trapero is awarded by FIPRESCI for the third time.
