A wonderful place to discover young Asian films — as our jurors did. The winner is a Tibetan film, The Silent Holy Stones by Wanma-caidan (Tibet, 2005). According to our jury, “the film beautifully and precisely observes a place in which the pressure of tradition, modernisation and globalisation results in cultural changes that are subtly reflected in everyday life.”
