Michel Ciment Honored

The Lumière Festival in the French city of Lyon honored Michel Ciment, director of the film magazine Positif, and Honorary President of FIPRESCI.

“Is he the greatest film critic?”, asks Thierry Frémeaux, artistic director of the Lumière Festival as well as the Cannes Film Festival. “He is anyhow one of the most ancient and renowned film critics.”

Michel Ciment, 85, is the author of many books of reference, and has published famous conversation books with Stanley Kubrick, Joseph Losey, and recently Jane Campion.
