Motivation for winning film:
With remarkable precision in its storytelling and direction, and with performances of unwavering authenticity, the film powerfully explores the bonds of a broken family through the eyes of a young girl. It also delves—without judgment and with compelling ambiguity—into the notion of belonging, and how it can serve as a path to healing, whether through faith or otherwise.
For these reasons, we, the FIPRESCI Jury, have decided to award the prize to LOS DOMINGOS (Sundays) by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa.
