The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) is pleased to announce the five nominees for the FIPRESCI Grand Prix 2026 – Best Film of the Year, one of the highest distinctions awarded by the international community of film critics.
Following the nominating phase, five outstanding films have been selected by FIPRESCI members from around the world. The winner will be chosen through a final vote and announced during the Opening Ceremony of the 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival, where the FIPRESCI Grand Prix will be presented.
The nominees for the FIPRESCI Grand Prix 2026 – Best Film of the Year are:

Hamnet — directed by Chloé Zhao
One Battle After Another — directed by Paul Thomas Anderson
Silent Friend — directed by Ildikó Enyedi
Voice of Hind Rajab — directed by Kaouther Ben Hania
The FIPRESCI Grand Prix recognizes a film that has made an exceptional artistic contribution to contemporary world cinema. Voted on by professional film critics from more than 80 countries, the award celebrates cinematic excellence, innovation, and works that have left a lasting impression on the international critical community.
The recipient of the FIPRESCI Grand Prix 2026 – Best Film of the Year will be revealed on 18 September 2026 in San Sebastián.
