Géza Csákvári

Geza Csakvari is a Hungarian film critic, journalist, and festival programmer. He was born in Budapest, Hungary, on July 18, 1975. He received his MA in theatre sciences in 1999. As a journalist specializing in cinema for more than twenty-five years now, he works for the leading Hungarian broadsheet daily, the 150-year-old Népszava, and Hungary’s biggest film magazine, VOX. Besides his critics, essays, and interviews he covers the most important film festivals, such as Sundance, Berlinale, Cannes, Karlovy Vary, and the Biennale di Venezia. He has been the artistic director of CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival since 2009. He is member of the European Film Academy.
