19th Sarajevo Film Festival

Bosnia and Herzegovina, August 16 - August 24 2013

The 7th edition of the Sarajevo Talent Campus will take place from August 18-24, 2013, alongside the 19th Sarajevo Film Festival. The application deadline was on June 1, 2013.

The participants will be offered an exciting program of lectures, panel discussions, and active critical debates on one hand, complemented by workshops, practical tutorials, film screenings and festival excursions on the other hand.

In 2013, the Sarajevo Talent Campus will focus on the theme “Mind the Gap — Engage with Cinema”. Contemporary Southeast European cinema has a lot to offer. Either surfing the Greek absurdist or slow Romanian wave, or absorbing Bosnian socially shaped cinema, demand has never been greater on the part of the viewer. Many questions are being posed, leaving gaps to be filled in by the audience. There is a dire need for an engaged, curious and imaginative viewer — the one who enjoys being affected and moved by the power of images. The one who dares to inhabit empty spaces of art-house cinema and turns films into actual experiences.

Within the 7th edition of the Sarajevo Talent Campus, filmmakers are encouraged to “mind the gap”, explore contradictions within film viewing experiences and think of ways of improving their own work while having in mind curious and demanding audiences.

Furthermore, the Sarajevo Talent Campus will again organize the Pack & Pitch program, which gives directors and producers the chance to pitch their projects at the Cine-Link Co-Production Market.

Sarajevo Talent Campus focuses on scriptwriters, directors, actors, producers and film critics from the following countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Turkey.

Sarajevo Talent Campus was launched in 2007 in cooperation with Berlin International Film Festival and Berlinale Talent Campus.
