Reports
Together with the festival in Karlovy Vary (with which it once alternated), the Moscow International Film Festival is the major film event in Eastern Europe. The competitive section shows a selection of new international films, while for visitors the “Russian Trail” is of particular interest. Same time, the festival headed by Russian filmmaker Nikita Mikhalkov is also a social event. “Again unchanged is the ambition to reach dimensions comparable with the world’s leading festivals, though the present conditions in Moscow do not allow it”, writes Umberto Rossi in his overview. — At the 26th edition, the Russian film “Harvest Time” (Vremia Zhatvy) by Marina Razbezhkina was awarded by our jury.
