Motivation:

For dealing in an original way with a subject represented many times on screen, for its critical approach to body as a commodity, choosing to take the risk to mix documentary and fiction, and for changing the perspective on athletes as warring women, taken in the impossible feat of equating their bodies to machines.

 

FIPRESCI Celebrates 100th Anniversary:

Venice film festival Artistic Director Alberto Barbera received FIPRESCI’s 100 Special Award for his support and contribution to the art of film criticism 🏆

The award was followed by the reception on the occasion of the federation’s 100th anniversary.

Tsai Ming-liang Receives FIPRESCI 100 Lifetime Achievement Award in Venice

As part of the 100th Anniversary Celebration at Venice International Film Festival, film critics’ federation distinguished Tsai Ming-liang with FIPRESCI 100 Lifetime Achievement Award.
