Call for Articles: FIPRESCI & Gdynia Film Festival Joint Publication on Krzysztof Kieślowski
The FIPRESCI and the Gdynia Film Festival are proud to announce a joint international publication devoted to the legacy of Krzysztof Kieślowski.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the director’s passing, and to honour his enduring artistic influence, we are preparing a special collection of seven essays written by international film critics associated with FIPRESCI. The publication aims to reflect on Kieślowski’s cinema and its continuing relevance for contemporary audiences, filmmakers, and critics around the world.
We warmly invite all FIPRESCI members who were inspired by, influenced by, or deeply admire the work of the great Polish filmmaker to submit their proposals. Articles may approach Kieślowski’s oeuvre from a wide variety of perspectives: cinematic language, ethics, spirituality, politics, memory, visual style, narrative structure, documentary roots, international reception, contemporary relevance, or personal critical reflection.
Conditions
Applications should be sent exclusively to: editor@fipresci.org
All FIPRESCI members are welcome to pitch an article.
Applicants should indicate the FIPRESCI section they represent (individual members should indicate their country).
Expected article length: approximately 3,000 words.
Honorarium: 100 EUR per published article.
Pitch Requirements
The pitch should include a provisional title, a short abstract (approximately 200–300 words), and a brief outline of the proposed argument or perspective of the article.
