Europa Cinemas and FIPRESCI present their Berlinale 2022 Awards

Dear Members of FIPRESCI, Dear Colleagues of Europa Cinemas,
Dear Colleagues of the International Press,

We are pleased to invite you to the presentation of both the EUROPA CINEMAS and FIPRESCI Awards at this year’s Berlinale. As in previous years, we are delighted to hold this presentation together with Europa Cinemas.

Unfortunately, due to the still ongoing pandemic, it will this year not be possible to arrange a reception following the award presentation. We hope to be able to do this again next year.

Our award presentation will take place on the evening of Wednesday, February 16, at 19 h (7 pm CET) at the Hackesche Höfe Cinema. It would be great if you dropped by. The normal admission regulations for the Berlinale apply.

The Hackesche Höfe Cinema is located on the fourth floor of an old building directly at Hackescher Markt. Here’s the address:: “Hackesche Höfe”; Rosenthaler Str. 40 -41, 10178 Berlin.

EUROPA CINEMAS

The Label has been launched in 2003. It is awarded by a Jury comprised of 4 Europa Cinemas exhibitors to European films programmed in 5 major festivals: Panorama (Berlinale), Directors’ Fortnight (Cannes Film Festival), Proxima and Crystal Globe Competition (Karlovy Vary International Film Festival), Concorso internazionale and Cineasti del presente (Locarno Film Festival) and Giornate Degli Autori (Venice Film Festival). The Label is awarded at a crucial moment in a film’s career: its presentation at a major festival, a strategic stage in its release on the international market.

The Label involves Europa Cinemas exhibitors who are playing an essential role in the circulation of films. The label consists of providing the 1,143 cinemas (2,764 screens) in the Europa Cinemas Network with a financial incentive to programme the film on its release date and screen it for an extended period. In addition, Label-winning films are given additional promotional help with special communication tools such as press services, the Label logo on posters and prints, and high visibility on Europa Cinemas materials (newsletters, publications, website) and the specific Label leaflet.
